IWEP's Asian vector of cooperation: an agreement with the leading Malaysian think tank has been signed

A meeting with the representatives of the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute, the leading independent private "think tank" of Malaysia, led by ASLI President Dr.Michael Yeoh was held at the Institute of World Economics and Politics under the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation (IWEP).

Prospects for mutually beneficial bilateral partnership within the framework of the development of a global network of dialogue platforms of international think tanks were discussed during the meeting. A memorandum of understanding on a wide range of issues was signed, which includes joint researches, publications, information exchange, organization and holding of conferences, seminars and other events, promotion of various initiatives within the framework of consolidating relations between Kazakhstan and Malaysia.

"The signing of the cooperation agreement between the two leading analytical institutions of Kazakhstan and Malaysia opens new opportunities for the development and strengthening of research ties between our countries, and also creates the foundation for joint scientific projects in the Central Asian and Asian-Pacific regions," said IWEP Director Yerzhan Saltybaev after the meeting.

ASLI was founded in 1993 to provide strategic analysis and advice on critical issues of government structures, business representatives and the diplomatic community of Malaysia. ASLI is called upon to promote dialogue within ASEAN, as well as within the Asia-Pacific region in general. ASLI has repeatedly held leading positions in global and regional think tanks rankings.
