IWEP and Fudan University agreed to cooperate

A meeting with representatives of Fudan University (China), one of the leading scientific centers of China, ranking in the top 100 of the best universities of the world, took place today at the Institute of world economics and politics under the Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – the Leader of the Nation (IWEP).

Kazakhstan and Chinese experts discussed global trends in geo-economics and geopolitics of "Greater Eurasia," the development of the"One Belt, One Road",  project as well as the prospects for joint research activities.

 

The Chinese delegation was represented by Vice-President of Fudan University Chen Zhimin, representatives of the School of International Relations and Public Administration, the Institute of Russia and Central Asia, international experts, journalist of the Guancha.cn Internet portal.

- We discussed Kazakhstan and Chinese think tanks collaboration issues, interaction within the framework of the 3rd Astana Club meeting, which has become an effective platform for discussing the global initiatives of the Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev. In addition, a memorandum of cooperation has been signed with one of the leading think tanks of China in their field – the Institute of Russia and Central Asia of Fudan University," pointed out Yerzhan Saltybaev, IWEP Director, at the end of the meeting.

Fudan University is the prestigious and oldest Chinese higher education institution, which ranks among the top 100 universities in the world. It consists of 7 research centers focusing on social sciences and 9 centers of fundamental sciences. The Institute of Russia and Central Asia of Fudan University focuses on the study of politics and diplomacy in Russia and Central Asia, China's interaction with Central Asia and within the SCO framework.
